DETAILED ITINERARY

 

Day 1: Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia) - Arrive in Ulaanbaatar

Welcome to Ulaanbaatar (UB), the capital city of Mongolia. Upon arrival at the Chinggis Khaan International airport you will be transferred to the hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure for you to relax and feel free to discover, but make sure you're back in time to have a welcome dinner together. Overnight in UB. 

 

Day 2: Ulanbaatar city tour

After breakfast at the hotel, depart for a half-day sightseeing tour of Ulaanbaatar. Visit some of the famous sites including Sukhbaatar square, the main square for people to meet. Proceed to the Natural History Museum, then visit the Gandan monastery, a religious center for Mongolians. At the end of the tour visit the Narantuul Market which is the largest open air market in UB with individual merchants. You can shop for antique items, beautiful carpets, leather and much more in this market. The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight in UB. 

 

Day 3: Terelj National Park 

After breakfast at the hotel, we will drive out to Terelj National Park which is the most popular destination and the third biggest protected area in Mongolia. During your visit you can enjoy seeing the interesting formations of rocks, including the famous Turtle Rock, a big rock shaped like a turtle. Also, you can visit the small meditation temple nestled in the rocky mountainside. Terelj is a great place for hiking, rock climbing, swimming, rafting, horse riding and so on. We will stay overnight at a ger camp. Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner at the camp.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Day 4: Tsonjin Boldog/Chinggis Khaan Statue 

After breakfast leave for the big Chinggis Statue located at Tsonjin Boldog 54 km from UB. This giant 40 meters tall statue was built in a legendary place believed that the Great King found a golden whip. You walk to the head of the horse through its chest and neck and on top of it you can enjoy a panoramic view. Also, you will be guided to the museum shows exhibitions relating to the Bronze Age and Xiongnu archaeological cultures in Mongolia as well as the Great Khan period in the 13 and 14th centuries which has ancient tools, goldsmith subjects and some Nestorian crosses and rosaries. During your stay we will visit a nomadic family to observe their daily life. Also we drive to the 13th Century Complex where you will experience the 13th century nomadic Mongolian life by visiting the 5 camps (Guards, Herders, Education, Craftsmen, King's) set like traveling back into time. You can try wearing the nomads’ and warriors’ outfits and take some selfies too. We will stay overnight in a tent nearby a herder family. Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner.

 

Day 5: Back to Ulaanbaatar

After breakfast at the camp we head back to Ulaanbaatar and you will be transferred to the hotel for your check in. After lunch you will be guided to shopping at the State Department Store and Gobi Cashmere Outlet.  In the evening you will enjoy traditional Mongolian cultural show. Overnight in UB.

 

Day 6: Departure from Ulaanbaatar

After breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to the Chinggis Khaan International Airport to board your flight to your home country.
